In my clutches.

Let us consider the clutch, that small (usually) handheld (hence the name) necessaries-only handbag. I don't have many clutches, as I'm a backpack/shoulder bag girl, but I do have a few, and I use them to varying purpose.

For example, consider the Louis Vuitton pochette:

And this, ladies and germs, is what we call an "aspirational bag."

And the reason we call it that is because no one I know personally, including me, is ever going to have one. Between the intentional supply scarcity and the I-could-buy-a-new-car-for-that price, it's well out of reach to.....well, the 99%, which means there ain't NO WAY I'm ever getting one.

This does not stop me from yearning.

But it's CAMO!

I have an odd confession: I love camo prints. Military, hunter's, urban, wherever there's a fabric vanishing act going on, I'm on it. For a while, a significant percentage of my wardrobe (if you can call a pile of unsorted clothing a wardrobe) was hunter's camo, because I love the way the patterns look. See? How pretty!

Recently I found these printed leather B. Makowsky bags in varying sites on the internet, at seriously rock-bottom prices (and yeah, like I have even that much money!), just as I was thinking "Hey, it's been a couple months, I'd like an I Got Hired and I Ain't Fired Yet! present." I especially want this self-prezzie because....

I can't wear camo at work.

Dammit. *frustrated*

But I CAN carry a camo bag!

I posted this one yesterday:

That's the denim color, although it's mostly dusty navy and greys.

If I had a million dollars....

Welcome to the first post of Bags Behaving Badly, the not-really-companion blog to Dolls Behaving Badly. My name is Charlie, and I'm addicted to bags.

Expensive bags, cheap bags, handmade bags, Bags of Holding, magic bags, backpacks, sling bags, cosmetic bags, and your great-grandmother's alligator purse. I also love the feed sack bags from the 1930's-50s: they were made of such lovely cotton fabric, and I have a Rubbermaid bin full of them. I even got attached to a high-quality Ziplock bag once. I love every one of them.

Bag addictions usually accompany shoe and fashion mania, but honestly, I'm just all about the bags. All I ask of clothes and shoes is that they be comfortable and not too clownish. I couldn't tell you what my family is wearing on any given day (this is inconvenient when I lose sight of them in public), but I can tell you what my friend Linda was carrying to work in the summer of 1993. For the record, it was a large blue Coach tote in pebbled leather with brass feet on the bottom. You're welcome.

What you'll see here will be a lot of different kinds of posts, from pics of my own bag to interesting things I find online. Whatever catches my fancy that's bag-related, you can find here.

Drop me a comment and tell me what you're carrying! Or, for that matter, what you're jonesing for. I have an eye on this:
